A CHRISTMAS CAROL-Review

"Marley was dead to begin with.There is no doubt whatever about that.The register of his burial was signed by the clergyman,the undertaker and the chief mourner.Scrooge signed it.And Scrooge's name was good upon 'Change for anything he chose to put his hand to.Old Marley was dead as a doornail." 
    This is the first paragraph of the all time favourite Christmas story of well known British author Charles Dickens-'A Christmas Carol'.A wonderful and meaningful story,I ought to accept!Dickens has once again established his worthiness in my mind ,if he has already done the same in yours,after novels like '
David Copperfield' and 'Oliver Twist'. 'David Copperfield' is his autobiographical novel while 'Oliver Twist' elucidates the plight of  Oliver.But 'A Christmas Carol' is disparate.It is a dexterous story,when the glum old miser Ebenezer Scrooge discovers the world of love and happiness rather than that of money and hatred.The ghost of his deceased company  partner Jacob Marley informs him about the visit of three spirits-The ghost of Christmas Past,The ghost of Christmas Present and The ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.They force him into altering his myopic ways by showing him events of his past ,events taking place now and shadows of events which are yet to take place.Gradually he changes his attitudes and his intolerant behavior.The folks get astounded by his sudden change on the night of Christmas.He celebrates Christmas with his clerk Bob Cratchit and family and his nephew Fred.Alas!He turns overt a new leaf in his long lived life!
            Even though a 90-paged book,it has contents enough to teach us values.Values of love, joy, spreading joy and being happy.Christmas is in a way a time to be happy and a time to do good to suffering mankind.Dickens has of course taken proper consideration in conveying that to his beloved readers.It is definitely a magnificent story,I must say.And more than that I can feel a contentment inside my heart in having read that book ,for it was earlier kept in neat racks in my book shelf untouched and unread ,waiting to be chosen!I suggest everyone to read this book, if possible.And the most attractive element about this book is its narration.But there is no surprise in me saying so because its Charles Dickens who has written the book.I halt by expressing my love to the story of Ebenezer Scrooge ,the former miserly old skinflint.What would he be now???????

A news about my blog was given in Indian Express news paper. It was on 8 th September, the day my school was reopened. It was a nice day I went to school with the news paper. I showed it to my friends .All of them congratulated me . I showed it to Roshan, he said ‘ it might be some other child in your same name ’, I said that the picture which I drew during the ART period was there in the news paper When the bell rang, I showed it to my class teacher.
